Annual Meeting June 26-28, 2008 Hosted by Chicago Area Congregations at Wheaton College, Wheaton, Illinois FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS: What does it mean to be an Anabaptist Christian in our American culture? --The Book of Esther--
In addition to conference business, participants will have the opportunity to celebrate together in worship and visit with friends. Speakers for worship services include:
**Joel Miller, pastor of Cincinnati Mennonite Fellowship **Cyneatha Millsaps and Chuck Neufeld, co-pastors of Community Mennonite Church **Gwen Gustafson-Zook, MCC Great Lakes regional representative There will be opportunity to participate in a silent auction featuring a Dreams for our World quilt with a quilt patch inspired and designed by the Kids Club at Community Mennonite Church. It will not be easy to choose from among the interesting workshops planned for Friday afternoon. For a schedule of events, click here. As a way to make visible our commitment to support missional activities already happening in our congregations and their contexts, we invite you to participate with Community Mennonite Church in supporting the local ministry of CeaseFire. CeaseFire is a strategic public health effort to reverse the violence epidemic using highly trained street outreach staff, public education campaigns, and community mobilization. CeaseFire is an initiative of the Chicago Project for Violence Prevention. Donations of any size are welcome. **Childcare provided for Infants - children age 3 **Planned activities for children Age 4 - Grade 5 **Planned activities for Jr High youth **Planned activities for High School youth DELEGATES: Actions during the business sessions will include the 2008-2009 Spending Plan and the 2008-2009 Slate. The Board of Directors will also be introducing Milwaukee Mennonite Church and Lois Johns Kaufmann, the new Conference Minister.
